Congratulations, Noah! Writing Competition Winner!

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

Congratulations to Noah who came Runner Up in the 4-10 category for the Chelsea FC Short Story Competition.

Noah's fantastic story, 'The Plastic Monster' was a very funny and poignant piece about plastic pollution and an octopus goalie!

See what the judges themselves had to say:

"The Plastic Monster was well-written, imaginative, and it managed to combine a great environmental message with proper football fantasy (I’d love an octopus goalie!)." – David Baddiel

"An excellent and creative story with very topical with references to ocean pollution and plastics. It was good to see that Stamford and Bridget were playing their part by helping to free the Blue Whale. I loved the character Tentacle Terry, he would be really welcome addition to any football team but I am pleased that he agreed to by Chelsea’s goalie. I really enjoyed the use of descriptive language and how you brought the characters and their setting to life. Great job!" - Sam Gaskin-Kemp
